My first spiritual initiation tooks place at the age of 9, when my granmother learned me to chant Gaytri mantra.

During my childhood I saw many sadhus in my home town as it is a holy place. But I was not much familiar with their activities. In the north side of my home there are some big ashrams for sadhus. They woke up early in the morning around 4 o'clock and chant the word 'soham'. They also sang a song whose wording was some thing like that: " uth jaag mussafir bhor hua ab rein kha jo sovat hai, jo sovat hai vo khovat hai, jo jagat hai vo pavat hai ......." I also woke up early in the morning for study, so I also enjoyed this song parallel to my study.
That time I was not aware with its power but I like its music and rythm very much
